Addicted to Lanterns, my 200th Post!

I can't believe I have already reached my 200th post!  So here it is!!!

I have a small collection of mostly vintage lanterns. Most I have just placed right into my decor, some need a bit of TLC before they make it all the way into my home.  Such is the way with old stuff...I had just reset my internet, for the 3rd time, when a picture of two very old kerosene lanterns popped up in my Facebook news feed.  I love swaps!  I was finally the first in line and so of COURSE I jumped all over it!  We met that day and I was the new owner of two wasp nest filled lanterns.  Not kidding about the wasp nest part either.
Can you see the yuck inside the globes?

Photo Challenge - Picture 7, something old

I have said it before, and I'll post it again, I LOVE old things!  Today my picture is of a lamp that is in the process of being re-finished.

I will turn it into an electric lamp eventually, I just need the time! I would leave the lamp intact but it was already rusted out.

Memorial Day projects!

A beautiful Monday, Memorial Day, and instead of doing a BBQ we have been working on projects around the house.  My DH found a lot of 2x boards in the garage so instead of buying some to make a bunkey board for our antique bed we just used what we had!

I love old stuff!

I'm not a normal "modern" woman.  I LOVE old stuff.  I love the look of it, the stories it could tell if a piece of history could talk.  Don't get me wrong, I LOVE modern conveniences...and wouldn't want to do without my smartphone, my coffee maker, or my remote start on my car...

Projects!!!

What a week!  I've been more active on the Swap n Shops on facebook, got a great deal on some mini lanterns. And I got a deal on an unusual one at the Enchanted Frog (7950 Missouri 116) in Lathrop!
The red one is the one from Enchanted Frog,
the light one is another Facebook score
and I've had the black one for a while
Needs to be distressed, but i love it!

I also scored some barnwood boards.  The first one is destined to be paired with some rail spikes and will be a coat rack for my entry way, the rest I have plans to create some shelves for around the house.  There is so much character in them, it is AWESOME!

I also had the time to go visit the Red Barn Yarn Farm if you are ever in the area, and have time, I suggest going!  You can meet the alpacas and feed them!

If you are really lucky you might even be able to get a kiss from one! I did!!!

The yarn available is unbelievable, and is every yarn addicts dream!!!

More blogs to follow as I get going on my crochet, barnwood and other projects!!

Take time to be crafty!
